The Flourish After Cancer Podcast
Jun 24, 2026 · 48 min · 12 segments
You've done everything right. The grocery list, the supplements, the meal prep, the research tabs that stopped making sense weeks ago. And underneath all of it, there's still this quiet, nagging…
Working on keeping cancer from coming back can probably feel like a full-time job sometimes.
At least that is what I gather from having heard so many of our flourishers describe all the things that they're already doing to help to keep cancer from growing or from coming back.
And when they go through their list of things, I'm like, how do you have time to hang out with your kids or like go to work or just have fun? Because everything you're describing to me sounds like it would take up an entire day every take seven days a week.
I know it's not very nice to kind of hear this, but I know that this is a huge struggle because where there just feels like there should be so much you should be doing to block cancer from growing, to block cancer from coming back, that it is taking up a lot of your time.
And we have had it described to us as like, I literally stopped my part-time job or I stopped my full-time job or I stopped volunteering because I had to focus all my attention now on doing well.
I had to focus on going and doing the grocery shopping every week and reading all of the labels now takes time.
I want to cook all my meals at home because I don't trust anyone to make healthy meals for me.
And it just feels like you have no time left or that you're struggling to do anything but that at least.
Is that something that you guys might be feeling? If so, I think you'll enjoy this episode.
Even if you feel it a little bit, you're going to enjoy this episode and we hear it.
I get it too sometimes because I feel a lot of pressure as a naturopathic doctor, as kind of like someone who I want to, I want to be a role model or at least a model for how we would expect our clients to be.
And I also work hard on my health and making sure I get my workouts in and eating well.
I have a lot of the steps to put into place, but I feel like my pressure, I don't feel like it's that bad.
I feel almost the pressure that could be exaggerated if I were speaking to another client.
