#053 - Gary Newman

Yeah, yeah,

yeah, definitely.

I mean, sometimes when you have your... almost worse sessions in terms of it.

I mean, I've had sessions where everything goes wrong.

You must have had it.

Every week.

Yeah, every week.

But you do, don't you? Like literally everything you touch goes wrong.

And then sometimes I've had sessions like that where you end up catching a really good fish off the back of

it.

It's almost like the fishing guns are looking down on you.

Yeah,

yeah, yeah, yeah.

What's next for Gary Newman after the adventures we spoke about three and a half years ago and then everything we've just spoke about today? What else are you going to do now?

I'm actually off to China in a few weeks' time, going back out there, having another go for the Black Carp on that same lake, but also going down right into the southwest corner of China in Yunnan province.

What's

that far?

I'm only going down there for five days just to have a look at a couple of lakes for the black carp, but there's also potential for goonch catfish.

They found a new species of them down there.

Because, I mean, that part is right on the borders with Burma and Laos.

And you've got the Mekong River, the Salween River and the Yangtze River all flow down through that

province.

That sounds like a fishy spot.

Yeah.

So, I mean, it's not somewhere that's getting fished, but you just don't know what could be there.
