#044 - Michael Buchwalder

The only time I've ever been bad is in Ireland once.

I shamed myself really one night.

It wasn't really my fault.

It's kind of Northern that's messed it up.

So...

I drew, I started the story the night before.

So we go in the pub the night before, Friday night.

They finished the festival, great weekend out.

And Friday night's presentation night.

So you're in Joe Mahan's hotel, which is probably the best hotel in Ireland.

Never been there, but I've heard a lot about it.

So you sit there and I'm drinking.

I was 21 at the time.

So I might think I'm the big Don drinking Foster's Ice, really.

I was like a shandy drinking Southerner.

So I'm drinking away Foster's Ice when I got to about 25 on bottles, bladded back in the day when you could drink a bit and you didn't have a hangover really, not properly.

So we get to about five in the morning and me, Rod, Oggy, Don, Mouscott, Mount Liptrop, they're all around like proper big, like Milton Keynes used to take like 17 of us from Milton Keynes, it was a proper piss up for a week, like real good.

So it's about two in the morning and I'm like, some of the little cowboys are going to bed now, like a bit tired, bits and pieces.

There's me and I'm like, let's get on the beach.

Been out since fishing.

Oh yeah, been fishing all day, yeah.

Done a presentation, like got the money for the presentation we won, not going to spend it all now.

But it's about five in the morning, there's me, Rod, all the Northerners like Jolly and that was still their drink.

Graham Jolly, yeah, yeah.

Jolly, yeah, old Teef United, old Captain Colgate and we're out drinking and Rod's like, I said to Rod like, we're going fishing? He went, yeah, I'll go fishing.
