You've hit your goal weight… so why does it still feel fragile? 🎙️ In this bonus episode, Coach Heather Shuker explains the phase nobody talks about — the period after weight loss but before true…
The phase nobody talks about is that precarious place between reaching your goal weight and actually getting to weight stability or weight maintenance.
You are not on solid ground just because you finally hit that number on the scale you've always wanted to see.
The reason for that is because even though your body is really, really good at maintaining your body weight, unfortunately, if you have recently lost weight, your body is still trying to pull you back to your old weight.
Your weight set point, from your body's perspective, is where you were before you lost all this weight.
And until you have it stabilized enough in order for that to be your new weight set point, you're still not out of the woods in terms of your weight loss journey.
Unfortunately, weight regain is exceptionally common, especially in that first year.
Again, when your body's weight set point is dragging you back to where you used to be.
So, it is important to not lose sight of what got the weight loss in the first place in order to keep it off during that timeframe.
Unfortunately, I have seen countless people come to the fasting method just like I did and experiencing what is best described as the miracle that is the combination of low-carb and intermittent fasting.
And unlike countless of other weight loss programs that many of us have tried, this one seems to be the one that works the best because it is.
It is the one that works in tune with your body's physiology in the best possible way.
And so to have those things come true, to lose the weight that you've always wanted to lose, only to watch it all come back on, is exceedingly frustrating and defeating.
And I have seen people have that happen and they come back to the fasting method because they know it works, but they have fear, they have trepidation about regain.
And one of the reasons I think that happens is because sometimes people think weight loss and weight maintenance are two totally separate things.
