But in order for this to happen, we have to address unresolved issues.

That would be like lingering anger, bitterness, unrepentant sin, fear.

These are open doors or footholds for spiritual attacks, right? In Ephesians 4, 20 through 24, but we have not so learned Christ, right? if indeed we have heard him and have been taught by him as the truth is in Jesus, then you put off concerning your former conduct, the old man which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lust, and be renewed in the spirit of your mind, and that you put on the new man which was created according to God in true righteousness and holiness." One of the most important things we need to do is have our mind renewed.

Depending on how old you are, just think how many years you may have with these same thoughts, thoughts of what you think of yourself, thoughts of life in itself based on when you were born.

These old thoughts and patterns have to be addressed and they do have to be renewed.

Renewed is completing a process which ends up being intense, going up to a higher level of sanctification.

And this is why in Romans 12, two, it says, and do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind that you may prove what is good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

How do you renew your mind? Well, you need to know the truth about yourself.

And how do you learn about the truth? By reading what God says about you in His Word.

The only truth we know about ourselves is what others have taught us or have said about us.

If we don't know the truth, aren't we living a lie? In 2 Corinthians 10, three through six, it says, for though we walk in the flesh, We do not war according to the flesh.

For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments.

The word here, argument, is logismos, meaning reasoning, conscience, conceit, imagination, thought.

Bottom line is this, it's reasoning that reflects someone's values, how they personally assign weight in determining what they find reasonable.

It's philosophical strongholds that extracting patterns of reasoning that oppose divine revelation.

That's what it is.

So let's continue on the scripture.

And every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing everything thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled.

As I was sitting and writing this show, I can go back and think about how much I have learned regarding thought patterns.
