This is Jenny calling.

I'd be so thrilled if you could fix my life.

I have been hesitating about calling about this problem because it feels like such a cliche, especially given that I live in Los Angeles, but I am a writer who's been looking for full-time, steady work just over and over, coming in and out of several different industries.

I calculated the other day, and I was like, I

think I've spent

seven years of the last 20 looking for work.

And I just feel at the end of my rope.

I, you know, I'm fortunate that I do have some contract gigs.

But as we know, it's hard out here.

And I've changed industry several times.

I feel like every time I go on the reinvention tour, another

sort of

vertical collapses underneath me.

So, yeah, I also feel like...

Yeah, I feel just that...

I'm doing all the things.

I'm hustling everywhere that I can.

I am letting everyone I know know that I'm looking for work.

I feel like I can't do more than I'm doing, but yet it still doesn't feel like it's enough.

And then I guess the micro question I would ask is I did get a response from a place I applied to, and they just sent me a writing assignment.

And we're like, this is due on Monday at 8 p.m. PST.

And I'm just, like, frozen.

I can't decide.
