“Overcoming Your Big Fears”- Listen to my Morning Monologue: I’m sharing my take on pressing issues, enlightening research on human behavior, answering questions I get by email, and my favorite, most…
Remember, you can hear my radio program daily on SiriusXM Triumph and connect with me 24/7 at drlaura.com. Should be talking about how to overcome your big fears.
And, you know, unless you're clairvoyant, I don't really think how you can be afraid of what hasn't happened.
Are you clairvoyant? You trying to solve problems that don't even exist? Number one way challenge your fears about anything is to not become a slave, but become a master to them and make the decision that you're going to walk right through that fearful door.
Is it your worst fear come true? Or do you realize it ain't so bad? Just like when you jumped off a diving board, scared, scared, scared, scared, scared.
You do it and you go, "Actually, that was fun." So see all the things you could miss out on and not have enjoyment and a sense of accomplishment in life just because you let fear be your master, as opposed to you being the master over your fear.
But when you're trying to solve problems that don't exist and horriblizing, as I call it, you give energy where energy shouldn't be going.
You can stop, meditate, get into a yoga pose, breathe, close your eyes, hum, listen to music.
Reduces anxiety and everyday stress because it sort of detaches you from your thoughts.
"Oh, this is a bad thing." Well, how about, how about thinking about how exhilarated you will feel when you walk through the door of your fear? I have to stop people all the time on this program.
How you feel in the moment may not be as important as how you want to feel in the future.
Do you want to feel like this, scaredy-cat stuff? Or do you want to feel more confident? Well, you have to earn that, and you earn that by walking through the door of your fear.
