How do you turn a client conversation into consulting work that creates real value? Dr. Claude Kershner explains how to build productive client relationships, establish professional boundaries…
And one of the things that I would recommend you do with your clients instead of sending them emails to remind them is send them text messages.
But also when you have your clients on a call or when you have your clients' attention, just make sure that you... you formulate a plan for the next time you're going to meet.
So if I'm here in class with you and you all are my clients, before I get off of the class tonight, before I get off of this meeting, I say, okay, the last three minutes of the meeting tonight, I say, okay, hey, we're going to meet again next Monday at this time.
And so that allows them to be more accountable because now they said it to you in person and I'm sure you can understand the value of that.
And what would be cool too is if you're super organized that you kind of let them know what we hope to accomplish during the next meeting.
Well, if we can kind of meet the clients where they are and we can kind of knock out some small little helpful things for them if they're small and helpful and we wouldn't consider them to be like one huge deliverable.
But if they really need help with one or two things, simple, easy and things that maybe your group can do, It might be beneficial to kind of do that and group that into a deliverable so that they see some tracks and they see some progress.
They're not just kind of showing up on a meeting and answering questions for you.
If you can kind of knock out something and show them that you actually produced something for them.
