When you are building something meaningful, be deliberate about what you let in. Use the news strategically, not reflexively. Seek out places that elevate you—art galleries, forests, great…
[on-hold music] The sixth form of wealth is your circle of genius, and this is such an important thing to be assessing your world-class life by on a regular basis.
And what's your circle of genius? It's basically the people you spend a-- most of your time with.
But every single one of us has the opportunity every day to build this circle around us of people who inspire us.
And if you really wanna play in the rare air of legendary, make sure everyone who sits on this metaphorical board of advisors is operating at the level of the life you wanna be living.
And as you build your circle of genius and as you think about the concept, I want you to also think about your digital influences.
I want you to think about the people you might be following on the various platforms.
You know, are they toxic? Are they superficial? Are they negative? Are they appealing to what's lowest in human nature just to get likes? Or are they people of depth? Are they people who are aligned with the values you have? Are they people of the same energetic frequency that you wanna be at or currently are operating at? Are these people of light and mastery and excellence and inspiration? I mean, this is really important.
The people you allow into your life each day, whether they are live people or virtual people, they are affecting you.
We know from the research of Nicholas Christakis at Harvard University that you are influenced not only by your first circle of friends, but by the friends of their friends and the friends of those friends.
And so think about the people you're allowing into the-- your circle of genius, and also think about the people you need to say goodbye to.
One of the most valuable things I've learned in my life is the insight that some people come into your life for a reason, for a season, or for a lifetime.
Some of your friends, maybe some of the people that you follow, maybe some of your family members, maybe they were perfect to spend a lot of time with last year or three years ago, especially when it comes to friendships.
You know, I found in my own life some people were perfect best friends for many, many years, but perhaps they didn't grow with me.
Doesn't mean they're bad, doesn't mean they're not wonderful, but they're-- they might not be right for me right now.
