Join us for today's podcast as Crystal shares insights from her recent talk to CEOs about the importance of having a clear vision, mission, and values, emphasizing that these principles apply to…
And one of those keys is that it needs to be a collaborative process.
Now, when we're talking about the vision, right? The vision is, hey, this is where we're going.
This is where we're going to end up.
So when I get on a plane, my vision is that I'm going to end up in the destination that's on the other side of my ticket, right? And my mission is, well, what do I need to do to get to that vision? Well, I need to get on the plane.
I need to put my seat in the upright position, put my tape tables away, and I need to be able to be on the plane at the right time so that the plane can take me in its mission to get me to my vision.
Now, as we're doing that, there is a certain way that I'm going to act as I get on this plane.
It's gonna take me to my vision and that's my values.
It's the character of who I am.
Oh, I don't know about you, but have you ever people watched at an airport? You can see those who are so nervous about getting on the plane.
You can see those who are loud, those who are checked out, those who are agitated.
And you know, as we begin to watch people, we begin to see what seeps out of them underneath stressful situations and it begins to show their character.
And that's why the values that we have are so important because the values that I carry should be the same when I'm in the office at Crystal Clear Finances and I'm meeting with a client or I'm counseling someone or I'm making investments is the same person I should be when I'm waiting in line to get onto the airplane that's gonna go through this turbulence to get me to my vision standpoint.
So when we can begin to understand the importance of having the vision of where we're going, the mission of understanding what we need to do on a day-to-day basis to get there, and then the values which help us as people of character, men and women of God, in how we act, if we can put that all together, then we can accomplish what the will of God is in our life.
And we all know that, right? We all know that our purpose, each one of us was born with a purpose.
And as we spend time with God in our devotions and with those who love the Lord, we can begin to witness what our calling is.
Once we know the calling, then we use the resources to help us sharpen the calling, sharpen our skillset so that we can accomplish the vision and mission that God has for us.
So when we keep all of that in mind, and again, when I'm talking to this room full of CEOs, you might say, well, isn't there a different title for it?
No,
it was a CEO meeting.
I know, clever title.
We need to work on the marketing there.
But at this CEO meeting, which is what it was called with a room full of people, what we needed to understand is they already understood, okay, mission, vision, and value.
They understood that it was important, but how do they do that? Now that's something that I want to ask you.
We know by now, right, that mission, vision, and values is important if you've listened to me for any length of time.
But how do you actually do that with your family? And even before you roll it out to the family, how do you do it to come up with it? Well, this is where collaboration is so important.
And one of those keys is that it needs to be a collaborative process.
