CK United on the verge of qualification for the knockout stages, New Oak kick off the defence of their Premier title in style, Carlow League talking points so far, St. Anne's positive start to the season, O35's season wraps up and more

They obviously played Newbridge on Saturday.

They were trying to bounce back from that 4-0 defeat at the hands of Villa last week.

And they did a decent job, to be fair, I thought.

Look, it wasn't easy.

It was never going to be easy.

But you have to expect that at the same time.

Yeah, Newbridge were looking for their first win, their final home game, and they looked good, actually.

They frustrated CK for the first 45-50 minutes.

They looked good.

They were causing them all sorts of problems going forward.

Um...

I didn't think CK were at their best in that first half.

Just, I don't know, there was just something missing.

They were good, to be fair, but just something missing.

I thought they improved a lot in the second half.

They did create a few chances in the first half, actually, to be fair to them.

To be, you know...

But yeah, I know they were missing a six, I thought.

That was the one thing I just, you know, they just needed something.

Yeah, Jordan Harmon was not around.

He was injured.

He had pulled something, I think he said to me.

I was talking to him beforehand.

He said he'll be all right for this week, but they didn't want to risk him for that game, which is understandable.

And they keep playing Harry Sherlock at right back.
