Watch the full video on YouTube: You're posting. You're showing up. You're doing everything the gurus tell you to do — and your following isn't moving…

You're creating content for the people who already follow you, not the people who don't.

Are they inside jokes with your existing audience, personal updates, things that only make sense if someone already knows who you are? That content might get likes from your current followers, but it does nothing to bring in new ones because a stranger scrolling past has zero context and reason to stop.

It answers a question a stranger is actively searching for, and it solves a problem in the first three seconds with zero backstory required, and it doesn't assume that someone knows who you are.

Ask yourself before you post, "Would this make total sense to someone who has never seen my page before?" If the answer is no, you're maintaining an audience, not growing one.

And both matter, but they need to be in separate categories of content, and most people only make the first kind.
