Well, we're here talking about All Quiet on the Western Front, directed by Lewis Milestone.

It came out in 1930.

It won outstanding production at the third Academy Awards, which took place on November 5th, 1930.

What?

Why would it be November?

So this is the third iteration, right, of the Academy Awards.

They're still figuring their shit out.

And we just mentioned that the 100th is gonna take place in 2028, despite the fact that the first Academy Awards took place in 1929.

And that is because 1930 is the only year in Oscars history that there were two Academy Awards.

This is actually the second Academy Awards to take place in 1930.

They decided to hold the awards in November to move them closer to the eligibility period.

So again, they're figuring their shit out.

The first six years are a little bit wonky.

I mean, it's okay to try things.

It's historic for that alone.

I mean, no other year did two A- Academy Awards take place.

And just kinda like Wings, we're heading back to World War I yet again.
