The roadmap you made is as if you were standing there with the person, whereas a lot of roadmaps are made, but they've already, you know, gone through it and they're at the other point and they nearly forget what anxiety is like because it's overwhelming.

You do need very simple steps that are in a very structured way that one leads on to the next.

But most of the time with anxiety, you just thought you go exercise, do a bit of CBT, you know, and people are like, oh, but how am I going to sequence this? Like, what am I supposed to do? And then you end up doing nothing because of the deep level of overwhelm.

And also, like, I think the wellness industry is a lot to blame for that, like this overwhelm of like what was meant as the antidote became part of the problem.

And it became like, how good are you at being well? And here's the things that you should be doing that look good to be doing.

And so this book, a lot of the stuff, a lot of the steps at the beginning of the roadmap are quite like boring, frankly, because they're the things that people think won't make a difference.

But they're the foundational steps that like once you get to grips with those and really like take the time to meet yourself where you are without racing to the part where you can just sort of swat it away, like slapping a yoga class on the end of a very stressful, chronically, you know, workaholic day is not going to solve the anxiety that's underneath it all.

And also this obsession with like a quick fix or, you know, what it means to overcome anxiety means to never have a wobble again.
