Hey there, welcome to The Awakened Heart, a podcast for neurodivergent and trauma-experienced women.

I'm your host, Autumn Moran, licensed professional counselor, somatic healing trauma recovery life coach, if you will, 500-hour trained yoga instructor, and a fellow neurodivergent trauma-experienced woman.

Today, we're talking about something that I have to be honest with you about before we begin, because this episode started as one thing and became something else entirely.

It started as a mythology episode about Aphrodite, the Greek goddess of love and desire.

I learned where she came from, rising from sea foam, born from a wound thrown into the ocean, arriving on her own terms.

Like, the real version is, like, I can't remember all the names or the details, but, like, I think it...

The mythology is beautiful, but it has all been rewritten, retold, and twisted to serve agendas that have nothing to do with women's actual liberation.

And I'm not going to stand here and teach you something I don't fully believe in just because it sounds poetic.

The feeling of being alive in your own body, of wanting things for yourself, not for anyone else's approval or gaze or validation.

And honestly, I'm going to get a little personal today, maybe a little more personal than I usually am, because I think if I'm feeling something, if I'm living something, I'm not alone in it.
