Analyze your brand messaging for free at www.jacquard.com In this episode of The Array by Jacquard, Toby and Jasper chat with Ingrid Sierra, Brand & Marketing Director at Zego and a global marketing…
You've built teams from one person to 40 plus people and you mentor other marketers as well.
And maybe the answer to this is curiosity.
What is a good marketer? What's the definition of a good marketer?
Because if I compare like, In my 20 years as a marketer, our marketing has changed compared to what some other people do and how it's changed.
If you like that kind of ongoing learning, also knowing that, to be fair, you can reuse a lot of what you've done before and you kind of evolve with that, I think it's the best thing you can have.
I'd say like in marketing, maybe more than anything else, like if you stand still, you go back and you do that very, very quickly.
So if you're not willing to kind of get in the race, maybe marketing is not the right thing for
you.
It is kind of adaptability in a way.
But I also think it's interesting, we've talked to a lot of marketers on this podcast as well as elsewhere around some people are very open to adapting AI.
I mean, the fact that you're connecting MCP up with your website and updating stuff is like one end of the spectrum.
And you've got some people who are like, I will never touch AI to do this.
It's a very human type concept.
There's a big spectrum.
But I also think adaptability in marketing whether it was direct mail to email or it's, you know, SMS and WhatsApp or it's, you know, now it's AO and G like new channels, new way to engage with an audience.
Isn't that in itself is not new, like new, you know, that, that has been true for, uh, at least 100 years, maybe longer, right? Like about ways of getting in front of your audience.
And so it occurs to me that your mindset, curiosity, adaptability is something that is necessary.
And not having that would have meant you were a poor marketer in the 80s just as much as you are in 2026.
