Ashley HämäläinenHostIt's a shift with September, I think, where all of a sudden my values on life are just so clear, and anything that is not real to me, is not important to me, is not real to me, is just falling away, like rapidly.
Hmm, how to, how to explain this? I was making cookies with the kids the other day in our kitchen.
[laughs] And all of a sudden, I just had this, like, this moment where I felt like I was in my old kitchen in my old house in St. Andrews, Manitoba.
It was like I could look around, and I'm like, "No, I'm on the ground, and the forest is around me, and I can, I can see deer that are on my property.
And I'm here in this big, beautiful open space kitchen that I designed, and I'm making cookies with my children." And then I was like, "But I'm not going back." It's like I'm also feeling the house that we are walking towards, but I'm already there.
I just started crying, and it was like I was homesick for my old house, but at the same time, not.
Like, like feeling like, "Why am I not in my next house?" It was such a wild experience, and it has happened before, but this was, like, the most real it felt.
Like, what are my real values in life? And I remember through August, I was starting to think about all the things that I wanna do.
And, like, how do I want to create this company? How do I wanna build this company? What do I wanna do? And I started to just look at other entrepreneurs and getting inspiration, and I was seeing this one woman, I won't mention her name.
But this one woman posts these reels about her back-to-back meetings and working so hard and everything, and there was a part of me that was like, "Right, I just gotta get into that mindset.
