Texans 12 Days from Camp: Al-Shaair's Rise and the AFC South Outlook

What's happening, everybody? Welcome into a Friday edition of Texans All Access from the Hyundai Texans Radio studio.

I am your host, John Harris, football analyst, sideline reporter for your Houston Texans, and so happy to be with you as we count it down each and every day to training camp.

We are 12 days away.

12 days away, and we want this sun to go away, well, relatively speaking.

We need some cloud cover, Mark, right?

Cloud cover.

Yeah.

I think a lot of people are with me.

I don't need the sun.

I don't need the sun.

I just need the warmth without the sun, and then I'm good in the summertime most of the time.

Well-

Who needs the sun? You just burn, it's too hot.

Get the cloud cover, you get a nice warm day, don't burn, not that hot.

I like it.

I mean, we don't even play outside the first half of the year, essentially.

So you're not-

It's until week five where we go outside.

Jeez.

Then we go to London, and of course, we play at Wembley outside, and then we come back for a game against the Giants.

That's inside.

So we only go outside on US soil once in the first half.

Oh my gosh, and that is in London.

Mm-hmm.

And it will not be hot that day.

Well, once at Tennessee.

We go to Tennessee, then we go-

Oh, Tennessee's week five.

Week five, yep.

Okay.

Then, then London, week six.

That's not gonna be that warm then.

It'll start to cool off a little bit then.

I, I would, I...

Yeah, I don't-

Yeah

...

I mean, I think so, but, you know, the first four games inside, so, you know, obviously three, three out of the four are home, and then we play Indianapolis.

I don't know how these guys do it.

I know they have the catapult systems and all these other-

Mm-hmm

... analytics on what the heat does to their bodies, but jeez.

I know DeMeco likes to practice real hard.

Yeah.

Ouch.

Yeah.

I feel like you beat the guys to smithereens in training camp sometimes.

Man, take it easy, Coach.

Actually, he knows what he's doing.

You do what works for you.

Yeah, Coach.

Because you know what? It's been working very well so far.

We're off to the best start for any head coach in team history.

We're undergoing the best three years in team history back to back to back ever, period.

There's no other way to define it.

It's the best era of Texans football ever.

I know it's not where we all want it to be, ultimately, in the Super Bowl, but it's still the best ever, so you got what you got.
