The middle is where most people quit.

You know, what I've learned is the beginning of a dream is exciting.

You know, that's when you're making Pinterest boards, buying journals, writing goals, making the vision board, and telling everybody, "God is about to do something really big in my life.

You just watch." And that part is fun.

But then comes the middle.

The middle is where nothing seems to be happening.

The middle is where prayers feel unanswered.

The middle's where you wonder if your faith is even working.

And I heard this phrase in my heart one morning, that the middle is where dreams either die or develop.

Now, that's why this season matters so much.

In fact, I like to compare this to a Hostess cupcake.

Now, stay with me here.

I'll explain.

You know, when I was growing up, my mom packed a Hostess cupcake in my lunch for school every day.

No exaggeration.

So this whole icing thing is real.

I have loved cake since I was a kid and been really passionate about it.

[laughs] But Hostess cupcakes are different.

Unlike bakery cupcakes, you know, where the icing is all piled on the top, a Hostess cupcake has icing hidden in the middle, right? Well, that's exactly how dreams work.

The beginning is exciting.

The ending is rewarding.

But the good stuff, the character, the growth, the faith, the discipline, the trust in God, it's developed in the middle.

So here's what I want you to know.
