EPISODE 250: 2026 DERBY FINAL TRAINERS

Brilliant stuff.

And I suppose, firstly, Lawrence, I know I spoke with you earlier this week.

And as I was saying, you have a fantastic record in derbies for a small kennel.

We'll get to that shortly.

But just give our listeners a small bit of background on yourself and how you got involved in greyhound racing.

Well, I've been involved in greyhounds all my life.

My father and his father had greyhounds.

So it has followed down through the generations.

and I'm the one carrying the mantle at this stage.

So I've always been involved in Greyhounds, loved having Greyhounds, and it's something I do.

Brilliant stuff.

And, you know, as I said, I know from speaking to you already earlier this week, it's obviously, you know, a very, very proud, you know, moment once again on Saturday night.

You have an unbelievable record in derbies for a small kennel and that has to be applauded.

And as I said, you know, you must be a very, very proud man to carry on that great, great tradition within your family.

Yes, well it's great to have a dog running in the derby and it's the ambition of most people to have a runner in the derby.

Now most of the people who have runners in the derby don't make it towards the final.

We've been lucky enough to have had three dogs reach that.

So this dog here, side of hand, is one of those and we are delighted he has reached the final.

Everything else is a bonus.

We're looking forward to Saturday and whether he finishes first or sixth, it'll still be a great day for everyone in the family.

Yeah, it sure will.

And we'll touch on sleight of hand shortly, but we have to give a mention to your previous finalists because there was one hard luck story as well along the way.
