Christina PengillyHostThis is going to be kind of inspired by an Instagram post that I did a couple of, well, weeks ago now by the time you're listening to this.
But it was all about, like, actually, yes, I do pay attention to how you speak to people, um, at the café, uh, at the coffee shop, how you include the quietest person in the room, how you put your trolley away, like, in the shopping center.
And I'll talk about that, like, afterward, but what was inspired from that conversation was things that we need to be better at normalizing day in, day out as people who are being more of a light in other people's lives, not to get anything back from that, not to be told you're amazing, not to X, Y, Z, anything like that, but rather just go through life making a positive impact on people's lives in the simplest ways.
And so many ways that there's also a few things that I want you guys to normalize for yourself and, like, your own way of being.
But just in how we are and be and operate in the world, I just want to have a chat about, like, things to no- normalize.
And also, as I'm talking, if you have any that you want to add to this, put them in the comment section, because then I'll be able to, like, do a post for all- it all.
Um, if you think about the things that, you know, in your day-to-day, what are the small things that other people do, and the gestures and the acts of kindness that are small, but they make you just feel like, "Oh my gosh," like, "I was really considered in that moment," or, "I felt so special in that moment," or, "I felt so seen in that moment." What are those little micro things that happen day in, day out that we need to speak about and just bring awareness to people of how much those things actually make an impact? Because as you move through your day as someone who is, like, a light to other people in the world in whatever capacity, a lot of the time you don't realize how what you're doing is actually positively impacting someone else.
And so that's why I've been thinking about this, but there would be so many things that happen day in, day out that I could add to this list.
So anything that you think of as we're chatting, put it in the comment section, and we can do another podcast episode on it, or I can create a little carousel of it or whatever it is.
And yeah, we can, like, really just build this movement together [laughs] if you will.
