Christina PengillyHostSo the first question is, what is your advice on business not fulfilling you anymore? The first thing that I would say to this is to question if it's the work that you are doing that's not fulfilling you or if it's the business that you are running that's not fulfilling you because that's two different things, right? So for me personally, when I was doing my coaching...
I loved the act of coaching people, but I didn't love the act of running a coaching business.
And that was really where I personally came into this middle ground of questioning, okay, what do I love and what do I hate? And then how can I shift what I don't actually want to be doing and what's not fulfilling me? And so for me, that obviously did look like closing that business, but I found other ways to have the same...
I guess, like affect and still fulfill the mission that I had on my heart through the realm of coaching.
And so what I mean by that is whilst I was no longer necessarily sitting down one-to-one with people, I was then able to have my thoughts and my feelings, my opinions, my lessons be quote unquote taught or shared through a different lens.
So that was through my YouTube at the time, through social media, now through the podcast.
So I still feel as though I'm doing the work that is important to me, but the way in which that has evolved has allowed me to have it be something that now completely fulfills me as opposed to before 20% of it or 50% of it fulfilled me, but then the other 50% I really didn't like anymore.
For you, I would also say if you are in a season where you are the sole trader within your business, but you still really want to continue it.
Maybe it has established the financial foundation for your family or it's what you want to do and you don't want to actually shift it entirely.
I would say looking at where can you potentially delegate tasks within your business that you don't like doing.
But again, that's going to depend on what is it that's not fulfilling you.
So say, for example, you're a fitness coach and you actually just hate fitness coaching, like you hate supporting people in that capacity.
And pivoting is the most powerful thing that you can ever do because I don't believe that we were born to do one thing for our entire life.
But I believe that a lot of people stay stuck in doing one thing for their entire life because they think that pivoting is actually negative.
Whereas in actual fact, pivoting is just the next redirection and step to you actually figuring out pivoting.
And you'll never figure that out if you're not willing to actually change direction.
So if you actually just hate the work that you're doing in terms of the actual coaching, for example, that's you looking at, okay, I'm not doing this anymore.
And that is of service to you, but also the people that you are coaching because they deserve someone that actually wants to be doing it, right? Whereas on the other hand, if you are just finding, no, I love to coach, but I hate the marketing side of things.
Like where could you potentially look to outsource if you are in a position to do that financially in terms of bringing someone on as a sales closer or bringing someone into your marketing, like looking at different avenues before you decide that it is not fulfilling because it might just be that there's elements of it that aren't fulfilling.
