This week we’re hanging out with our pal Tanner Hartman — a guy who somehow finds time to kill big bucks, catch big bass, and keep life moving when things get busy. We talk about how Tanner got his…
Tanner HartmanGuestNateHostBefore we get there, I want to share a quick story this last week.
Am I good to share the story you think about that? That six that I caught? Uh, yeah,
I think you're good.
Okay.
I don't know.
I didn't know if I wanted to share it for something else, but like whatever.
So in Wisconsin where I live, five pounders are not super common, but they're not that bananas.
You got your five.
It's cool.
But from a five to a six, you just don't really see them.
It's not that they don't exist.
Um, you just don't.
You know, they're rare.
I don't know if you'd call that like a Georgia 10 or something.
You know what I mean? But it's just it's it's not that common of a deal.
So Friday last week, I took the day off work because the day after was my birthday.
And I told my wife, I want to take the day off and go fishing up north.
And hey, we're my favorite place in the world.
And she's amazing.
And she was like, yeah, go do it.
um so i went up to my favorite lake and i was uh i mean it was like it was like christmas status where i couldn't sleep the night before like i was so excited i had the boat rigged up where all i got to do is go turn the key and drive you know what i mean like yeah like that excited feeling not not tournament fishing not pre-fishing i just i love this lake i love this area i love hayward i was excited to listen to like fishing and like packer podcasts on the drive up and whatever, um, get up there and pretty much right away.
I start catching fish in all my spots that I like, but I'm not really catching any good ones.
And then I was throwing a mag draft over like a deep point.
And I lost one that I would say was probably four or five, maybe a large mouth, um, really hard crack set the hook.
