So, um, in Prep for Wave Week, which we'll dive into Prep for Wave Week a little bit, a little bit more in a second here, but there's a pre-event survey, and from that survey, it was kind of like a 60/40 split when I asked if your agency has a written plan.

Six- about 60% told me that you had no written plan or that your plan just lives in a, in your head.

That number was shocking to me, and I'm not trying to make anybody feel bad, but I thought a lot more people...

Like, I l- thought a lot more travel advisors had some sort of plan for their business, but then it kind of makes sense.

Like, when I think about it, when you first start a travel agency, you're just so excited to, like, be in the industry and you're thinking like, "Oh my gosh, I can, like, make money from one of my things that I'm, I'm so passionate about." And most likely, most people who start travel agencies or, like, start their journey as a travel advisor, like, you're not really thinking about the business aspect.

You're thinking about, "I wanna help people travel." And this is a lot of the reason why I feel like my, this Steer Your Marketing Businesses podcast also exists to kind of fill the gap because I don't want you to figure out four, five, whatever years in or maybe even, like, months in sometimes that you're like, "I'm going to need more than just what I thought I was going to need starting this business to actually make it successful, to actually have it generating the revenue that I want so that I can live the life that I want so I can also travel wherever and however it is that I want to," but that can't happen if you don't have a plan.

[laughs] Like, I know many people who have, like, just fallen on success, but that really is the exception.

That's not the rule that happens in the industry, and if you see a lot of, like, the stats within the industry, not...

And not even, like, just travel industry, but it is hard to be successful as a business owner, period, and there's a sort of, like, tenacity and bravery and chutzpah that you need to have in order to be successful.

And so I, I kind of, like, wanna dive into some of the reasons why I am so passionate about planning, but before we do that, I did wanna give a huge shout-out again to each and every one of you who signed up for the event, who showed up for the event, who is still watching replays because they are available, which I love that you're still able to catch on to everything.
