Why isn’t your rifle shooting the groups you expected? In this episode of the Forster Products Podcast, the guys break down the equipment, ammunition, and shooting fundamentals that can make—or…
So, I mean, with that, and we've talked a lot, uh, you know, 30 white tail.
And, uh, we had an episode where we talked about the burger one twenties and that being a pretty new thing.
So, um, you know, you've been kind of in the, in the thick, thick of it, one running one twenties yourself in a lot of different calibers, but, uh, on the the gunsmithing side that's had you, you know, are you testing a lot there with those or.
Yeah.
Yeah, I mean, you
want to get right into that or just kind of list everything? I think that's a good start.
Yeah, so I mean, kind of started out with a 6x47 with the 120s, and it wasn't the most ideal freebore.
And that barrel didn't really shoot the best anyway.
So I was a little discouraged off the bat.
And it works really well for me.
I shot two or three national matches with it, placed really well podium every time I shot that gun in a match.
And those worked.
The 185 is working.
It's a little short than the 170 GT.
It's decent, but it still needs more.
So I then took a Dasher and I cut one with the 185 and I just ran a throating reamer in there.
And I kind of joke and I say, I just closed my eyes and I dialed it in until it felt right in my heart.
And then I pulled it out, lined it up at like 285,000.
So I added like a hundredth of a free bore and that actually worked really well.
That's it's, Most would say it's a touch long, but honestly, for me, 60 off, it puts it two thirds of the way in the neck on a little short dasher.
And I shot that for a couple of matches and podiumed with it too.
So, um, it's working well there, but just based on what I was seeing with the 185 and then that really long throat I did, um, So somewhere in that 235 to 250 with the dasher is what I kind of came up with.
