This is a follow-on from the previous interview, where in January of 2025, I had the opportunity to volunteer in a humanitarian mission in Turaza.
I was there for about five weeks.
And one of the things that I, I worked with the junior doctors there.
And what I found was that despite, you know, in a horrible situation, all they wanted were teachings.
This is a, you know, a group of young, very enthusiastic doctors, just hungry for teachings.
And with the limited resources that I had there, I mean, clinically, there was only so much that I could help medically.
But I started doing little simulation trainings, which they really enjoyed.
So even while there, I...
I had a long discussion with Shahira and said, okay, we need to come back and we need to start some training program.
And in particular, they were very interested in sort of advanced pediatric life support, which is APLS-TK.
So when I came back, worked with Shahira and then it was a ball rolling and we planned, managed to get some funding and I was planning to go in and do a series of five courses there in different hospitals.
So simulation trainings and pediatric resource management.
So that was the plan.
