Neil deGrasse Tyson Explains How the Periodic Table Works

So this one, I thought I'm long overdue to do an entire explainer-

Okay

... which might have to spill into more than one explainer, on the periodic [dreamy music] table-

Oh

... of the elements.

That's a whole-

It's, it's a whole thing

... that's a whole thing of science.

It's a whole, it's a science thing.

[laughs]

In fact, could you bring me my periodic table of element tie please? Here we go.

Oh, that's- that's wild.

So I'm not gonna tell you everything about the periodic table-

Okay

... 'cause I don't think all aspects of it are equally as interesting.

Okay.

I'm gonna cherry pick just the stuff that I find-

That you like

... interesting and fun.

Is that allowed?

Okay.

Interesting and fun.

That works.

All right.

Let's go back in time.
