What if you could pull the right career opportunities toward you while pushing away the work that drains you? In this episode, Helen and Sarah explore how the physics of magnets can help you shape a…
Sarah EllisHostHelen TupperHostOkay, so based on the attribute that magnets attract, they pull things towards them.
The first question, and I'm obviously going to ask Sarah, but these will be questions for you to reflect on for yourself, and then we'll give you some ideas.
And the first question is, what do you want to attract more of? And I'm going to give you three options.
Do you want to attract more people into you and your work? Do you want to attract more possibilities into you and your career? Or do you want to attract some more projects, a bit more variety perhaps? People.

Because when we share squiggly careers with different people, you often learn, I don't know, you learn more as a result of that.

So when you said people, I was thinking, oh, people in companies that we don't work with today or people in... you know, very different kind of industries.

And like every time we go into a new industry, I'm like, oh, we learned something about, wow, Squiggly still works here.

But perhaps in a different way or perhaps there are some new nuances or different parts of people who are in different parts of the world.

So I, sometimes you forget that people, not everyone has heard of Squiggly Chris.

we're in an echo chamber of people who support and sponsor squiggly careers which is brilliant but there are loads of people discovering squiggly careers like for the first time where they would just be like oh I've seen the TED talk or I've seen the book And I think for every new person or group of people that discover Squiggly, I think we learn, we get better.

And also, I never want to get complacent about that just because we have an incredible Squiggly community today.
So when you said, no, no, I like your interpretation, but I think this is why two people can have the same question and maybe come to a different conclusion with it.
So what do you want to track more of? When you said people, I thought you were going to think about like you and your development, but actually you thought more of like you and squiggly careers, like our company's development.
