**Training season may be over, but the work doesn’t stop. In this episode, we talk about what comes next—getting young hounds in the woods, building confidence, working on fundamentals, and preparing…
I want to circle back to our training season because I know we touched on it last week.
I didn't, I went over like, you know, the data and stuff that I'd kept, but I want to go over some dogs, the dog work, and then, you know, moving forward, where, where am I at moving forward? Where if you're, if you're training dogs and you're hunting dogs, what, what's, what's the next step in the process? Where are you at in the process? So the last two days I took old Zeke with me, the puppy, the, the seven, he turned seven months old.
So I was a little bit hesitant of taking him because I didn't want to put him in an environment, tie him up and like him kind of spaz out, and that whole experience is just not, it's not pleasurable for him.
I actually walked him into three different trees and I did not put a lead on him.
When he gets excited, man, that, that, that mouth is you, you, you, you, you, you.
So we were walking in to the first tree and we get in where we can hear the dogs really, really good.
He's like, "Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh." I'm like, "Dude, what are you doing?" And he's looking at me and he's looking and he's looking at me and I'm, I'm, I'm sitting there and I'm kind of giggling at myself.
I'm like, well, he knows there's a party going on, but he is not sure what the party's about and he's not sure what he should do about it.
