There are so many people and institutions trying to divide us for whatever reason.

I'm so lucky that I get to see different people, uh, that I get to fish with that come back year after year and their backgrounds are totally different than mine.

uh but the fly fishing is what brings us together and i've made some really good lifelong friends uh from doing this and the fly rod takes us to some awesome places uh while at the same time it teaches us a lot of things about nature and people and all that kind of thing um but another thing i found is that people are like that have been fishing with me before can't wait to get to a certain point in the river.

There are some people that just really like to fish runs, and there are some people that really like to fish riffles, and we spend a lot of time there.

And then there are a small margin of people that like to fish the big, long, flat, slow pools.

So speaking about your local waters, what are your favorite types of waters to fish?

And it's just super exciting being able to walk upstream a river and almost every single cast into each pool, you're pulling out a fish.

Now, are you talking plunge pools? Are you talking small or big? What size are they?

A lot of them, I've noticed, are really small, especially the further up you go in elevation.

And before I was fishing the Smokies, like I wouldn't have ever guessed that there were fish sitting in there.

And then you fish it and you're pulling out like a three inch, two inch brookie.

And my first two wild trout I pulled out, of the Smokies, my first two wild trout ever, not just the Smokies, came out of one of those little plunge pools like you're talking about that was smaller than a garbage can lid.

And there were two fish living in there that I know of, and I caught them both out of there.
