You are a member of the 30 by 30 Partnership Coordinating Committee, which you've served on for a couple years now.

And you do that with others from like-minded groups or related groups to 30 by 30.

So people from the Nature Conservancy and other conservancy groups, Land Trust, the Ocean Protection Council.

But because of that, yesterday we were also participating in California Natural Resources Agency's 30 by 30 Partnership Summit.

As I kind of already mentioned, there was a big bill signing there by the governor.

We can talk about that an hour later, but give us a little bit of the flavor of what yesterday was like and your experience up the 30 by 30 partnership summit.
It was hosted at the California Academy of Sciences, which was a great venue for it.
During some of the downtime, I got to see some African penguins in one of their exhibits.
I think I was appointed by Secretary of Natural Resources, Wade Crowfoot, to this partnership coordinating committee probably four years ago now.
And, you know, I'm always heartened when I go to these summits and the other 30 by 30 events to hear how favorably folks look upon cattle ranchers as stewards of our state's lands.
You get a tendency among environmental groups and some other folks to believe that they will perceive us as the enemy because we do fight against a lot of environmental groups in the state and federal legislature.
But, you know, really, Every time I speak with anyone at the summit, they are talking about the benefits of cattle ranching.
Someone introduced me to an individual from a land trust yesterday and introduced the California Cattlemen's Association as a group that's often overlooked in conservation.
And the woman to whom I was being introduced corrected the person doing the introduction and said, no, if anything, they're the OG conservationists.
So people in those rooms really do appreciate what our members are doing to steward California's land.
They recognize the value of California ranching for conserving 30% or more of the state's lands.
And there were a lot of great things said by various speakers yesterday about beef producers, agriculture in general.
There is some finger pointing at oil and gas, but I'm happy to say that the environmentalists in that room view us as a partner.
