Join Laura for STEPHEN KING SUMMER 2026!

It's a little bit more like a traditional online book club, but with a primary focus, Stephen King, and with some fun bonus goodies like the watch-alongs.

For Stephen King Summer 2026, we will be reading three works by Stephen King, a new novel featuring one of King's very favorite characters, a heartwarming novella, yes, King does write stuff that makes you feel good, and a classic Stephen King novel that has become part of our cultural lexicon.

These choices give you a variety of scare levels and tones to choose from, and you can join us for just one month of Stephen King Summer or all three months of this book club.

Here's the plan.

In June, we are reading the 2023 novel Holly, and we're watching the first episode of the 2017 television series Mr. Mercedes.

There's a tie-in there.

I'll explain it in a minute, but I think it will be very interesting for us to go from 1970s The Stand to these very modern works that are a totally different genre.

Okay, that's June, Holly, and an episode of Mr. Mercedes.

And then in July, we will read the short story and watch the movie adaptation of The Life of Chuck.

In August, we will finish Stephen King Summer with a close reading of Cujo, which was published in 1981, and we will also watch that 1983 movie adaptation together.

So we're doing Holly, The Life of Chuck, and Cujo.
