Filmmakers Sophie Darlington and Simon Blakeney (National Geographic's Lion)

So, Sophie, how many countries have you traveled to so far?

Oh, between us.

I think I've been fortunate enough to go to all seven continents, but East Africa and the Maasai Mara, where Keo is, is, I think, definitely, that's the place for me.

It's the skies, it's the landscape, it's the people, it's the animals.

And we're very lucky to get to travel to all these places, aren't we?

It's such an incredible part of the world, East Africa, and particularly the Maasai Mara, because all of this life is just concentrated on this one place, whether it's lions or wildebeest or zebra or leopards or... wild um sort of hyenas or wild dogs but they're just all in this one place and i think the that that just sets the stage for such an incredible story and there's so many stories going on we've concentrated on lions but you can go back tomorrow and tell a different story with a different animal even with lions again it's it's um it's it's an amazing amazing place

Hyenas.

Keo has never come face to face with them before.

And where there's one, there's always more.

Their

strength is in numbers.

Big

numbers.
