He's trying to tamp down the criticism that's coming from our American farmers, whether it's the 300,000 metric tons of foreign beef trimmings, whether it's his multibillion-dollar bailout of other countries and their agricultural industries, whether it's the destruction that he has wreaked because of these tariff wars with neighbors to the north, for example, like Canada.
He hasn't had to account to voters and more specifically to the farmers in our rural communities across this country.
Hallie Schaffner is running against Tom Cotton in the state of Arkansas to be the next United States Senator to go to DC.
Now look, she had to shut down her family farm that had been around for 150 years.
The family business could not withstand the economic headwinds that were coming as a result of Donald Trump's policies.
And she, like many others that are running for Congress right now, she said, look, I have solutions.
for these hard questions and these hard problems i have the work ethic and the wherewithal to get things done and she's exactly the kind of person that i have wanted to speak with about the desire to do something entirely different than what she was raised trained or educated to do And becoming a politician maybe is something that other people are born into, maybe into dynasties or families.
Maybe they're born with the privilege to be able to do something like that, but Hallie Schaffner is not.
And a big part of it is making sure that somebody like Tom Cotton, who was just a yes man to convicted felon Donald Trump, that Tom Cotton doesn't continue to be allowed to hurt, damage, and destroy what's left of Arkansas's economy.
