We're going a bit of tangent, we're going away from Bechor to Maaser.
Remember, what's the case of Maaser? Maaser is tithing.
You put the animals into a pen, you take them out one by one, every 10th animal you paint with a red thing, and you, you don't give it to the Kohen, you keep it yourself, but you take it to Yerushalayim, you bring it to the Mizbeach, and you get to eat them yourself.
If it develops a blemish, you can eat it at home.
So now the braisa discuss an interesting case.
Tanna Rabban Gamliel braisa: «גדיא שיאלדה שלוש בנות בחור בנוטה ילדו שלוש שלוש».
Let's say you have a little kid goat, a female goat that gave birth to triplets, and each of the triplets also in that same year gave birth to triplets themselves.
So you have one from the first generation, three from the second generation, nine from the third generation.
«כולן נכנסות להדיר להיתאסר».
The three and the nine can go and be tithed together.
They all have to be shana beShana in the same year, but here they were all, were all born in the same year.
Remember, the goats, their gestation period is five months.
Th- this, this place is, this case is plausible.
«אמר רבי שמעון אני ראיתי שהיתה בתור שנתה».
Now Rabbi Shimon says, "I indeed saw a case like this." Now, the Gemara's gonna see in a second what is he coming to add on Tanna Kama or disagree with, because he seems to just repeat, be repeating Tanna Kama.
Now the Gemara just first asks: «למה לי למיניה שלוש שלוש תוליד חד מינייהו תלת ואין אף תרתי תרתי?» We need to get to a case here of 10 animals born in the same year.
So instead of saying triplets, and then each of the triplets have triplets, the braisa could have said that the grandmother gave birth to triplets, and then of these triplets, one gave birth to triplets, and the other two gave birth to twins.
So you get two plus two plus three, seven in the final generation, three in the middle generation, you already get 10.
It's a case where you don't need 12, you can have 10.
Well, the Gemara persists: «ולמה לי למיניה שלוש כלל ילדו כולהו תרתי ודהדר ביה איהי ותוליד בהדיה הוא?» Why do we need any triplets? Let's have it that from the, from the third generation onwards.
Like, so let's say that the mother gives birth to triplets.
Great.
And then each of the triplets give birth to twins, and one of those twins, it's...
And, uh, sorry, and the mother then goes back and has another child in that year.
