or you could tell yourself i am building something that is going to have amazing foundations something that's going to be sustainable i actually remember when we were in the uk and i was feeling like man this is slow growth and god spoke to me it was thanksgiving he spoke to me around he how he is a thanksgiving kind of god And kind of started talking to me about how at Thanksgiving, you know, things take a long time, right? It's like you start cooking at nine in the morning and then you're done at three and then everybody eats in like five minutes, right? But how it takes all day to cook this like amazing, incredible meal, right? Whereas at McDonald's, which is crappy food, it takes like, you know, you're in the drive-thru, you're in and out in five minutes, but the food isn't as good.
But a Thanksgiving meal is quality and how he sometimes builds slowly because he's interested in quality.
It changed the story that I was telling myself and it changed how I started showing up when we were in the UK doing ministry at the time.

Is it in alignment with what God says or is it my own insecurity or a false narrative? Here's the other thing is stories that we tell ourselves actually shape our identity.
And belief is powerful because belief, the Bible says that the faith, the size of a mustard seed moves mountains.
So what you believe about your circumstance will 100% determine the action that you take.
so if you're constantly telling yourself I'm behind I'm not qualified nobody cares about what I say do you really think that you're gonna show up and make a bunch of social media content and do it with conviction do you really think you're going to start the podcast do you really think you're going to reach out to that person and ask them to be a guest on your show probably not because it's determining your identity but think about this just like listen to this instead what if you were to say God has anointed me to speak during this time.
God has gifted me and put a desire in me that his grace is on for me to move forward in this area.
When you say those things, even if it doesn't feel true yet, it starts to rewire your brain.
But the stories that you tell yourself 100% play a part in how you operate and how you move forward.
