Announcing Holy Troublemakers

Hi folks, this is Dom Bettinelli, and I want to tell you about a brand new show at Starquest that I'm sure you're going to love, because I love it already.

It's called Holy Troublemakers, and the first episode dropped Wednesday, September 9th.

Here's the idea.

The Catholic Church gets built by difficult people.

Mystics who argued with popes, missionaries who walked into places nobody's saying would go, Saints who were completely human and completely on fire for God at the same time.

Every episode is one of their stories, told as a story, with a beginning, a middle, and an end.

And I'll start with St. Peter, a married fisherman from Bethsaida who walked off his boat one morning, denied his Lord three times in a courtyard before sunrise, and died upside down in Rome.

I take you to the places where it actually happened.

The house in Capernaum, plastered floor to ceiling and covered in pilgrim graffiti in four languages, with a Byzantine church built right on top of it.

The pagan shrine at Caesarea Philippi that people called the Gates of Hades, which is where Jesus asked, Who do you say that I am? The charcoal fire in the high priest's courtyard, where Peter got the answer wrong, and the second charcoal fire on a beach in Galilee, where Jesus asked him the same question three times.

And you'll hear those fires.

There's sound design under all of it, and music to carry the mood, so you're standing there while I tell it.

It ends under the high altar of St. Peter's Basilica with the bones of an old man wrapped in purple and gold cloth, the feet missing.

The evidence is contested, and I lay out both sides.

Season 1 will run 10 weeks.
