Uh, this is a newer addition to the SRS, uh, family of regional meetings, uh, with the Asia Pacific meeting launched last year, and now Latin America.

We're, we're very far away from everything, so it's, it's good that we have the possibility of having, you know, meetings and, uh, uh, international faculty, and also that we can, you know, meet each other, the other surgeons in Latin America that sometimes it's also hard to, to get together in one place.

Argentina is actually a great, great place, 'cause they have, uh, quite a tradition in scoli surgery, and it's quite accessible from a lot of the other countries in Latin America.

And, uh, I believe that, um, uh, the mission of SRS is to foster the best treatment for the patients with spinal deformities.

Uh, one of the, the way to do this, to, to accomplish the mission, is to, to educate surgeons around the world, to give them the, the tools to offer the best treatments for the patients.

But it's hard to, uh, for, to find money and, and time to travel to go, to go to IMASS and annual session, an- annual meeting.

Then, uh, instead of the surgeon goes to SRS meetings, SRS comes to the surgeon around the world, and this is a way to, to accomplish its mission.

Um, yeah, increasing the accessibility, uh, of the SRS mission to, to, uh, you know, to members of Latin America is a, a, a key feature of this meeting, I think.

Talk a little bit about how, what that means and, and, uh, you know, how that, those, those organizations coming together have, have really elevated spine care in the region.

Oh, um, I'm from Brazil, and, uh, the Brazilian Spine Society is my, is very proud to, to be in colla- collaboration with SRS to, uh, um, to this meeting.

And, um, Brazilian Spine Society has around, uh, 1,500 members and, and the treatment of spinal deformity is growing a lot in our country, and we need to educate, uh, our, our surgeons here in Brazil.

And- Uh, the, uh, to have this meeting here in South America is a very good opportunity to, to the members, uh, present their papers, their, uh, uh, abstracts, and then, uh, and also to learn from other, from each other.

Well, uh, we're very proud of, of being part of, of, of this, uh, initiative.
