Is that to be expected when you throw a bunch of guys in who don't play a huge amount together, with some experience, and ask them to play against Japan?
I think it isn't, uh, Hugh, and particularly Ireland because of how structured, how reliant we are on cohesion.
France, for example, go away, make a load of changes, send a, a, a, a, a Top 14 final weekend squad to, to Auckland, and yet look like they're-- They look like France.
Um, whereas Ireland are very, very structured, and then hence you, and then you put a few new faces in there, and it's just players are slightly too flat, slightly too deep, and maybe the comms aren't as good as they normally are, and suddenly it just becomes a little bit s- disjointed.
Surprisingly, and this is probably the, the rare-- Like, normally against, against Japan, our set piece is so good that the rest of the stuff, you have so much possession that it doesn't really matter if you're not as accurate on every possession.
Whereas [clears throat] because our lineout struggled and because our scrum [clicks tongue] wasn't where we would like it to be, we had less possession, and then obviously, um, it becomes even more highlighted, and you get into a battle.
I mean, we were-- The game was still very much in the balance, I think, with 10, 10 odd minutes to go, whatever.
Which, again, isn't, isn't great, but it's understandable because it is the m- it is the midweek game of a tour.
Do, do, do you think that i- i- you know, in this case, and I, and I'll come back to Neil on this in a second and get the, the Ireland coach's view.
