Remarks with Republicans (David Kurfman)

How

long have you been involved in Republican politics? So...

I'd say not long after I got out of high school, about the year 1999.

I actually was living in Randolph County at that time.

I moved from here down there and worked at the Menard Correctional Center and got involved in politics down there and ended up becoming the young Republican chairman of Randolph County.

What made you decide to get involved?

Really, to me, it's kind of our civic duty to be in the know on who we're electing, who's in power above us, and I wanted to be a part of that and help pick good candidates.

How did you become Brown County Republican Chairman?

So I actually ran as a precinct committeeman.

That's how that works.

And for me this time, I was actually a write-in, which is a little bit harder.

You gotta go out and knock on a few extra doors, because instead of just getting your small amount of number for petitions.

So that's how I got in as a PCE.

And then later, a month later, when we had our county convention, I was voted in as our county chairman.
