Now just think about this.
The Lord himself, he said, "I do nothing except I first see my Father do it." So he must have, uh, had an, a, a go-ahead from his Father to get into the boat and go across the sea.
Isn't it wonderful that the Father, who knows everything, that Jesus, who knows everything, got into the boat, went across the sea, knowing full well that he would encounter a terrible storm on the way? A storm that almost would sink the boat, that would terrify the disciples.
And, uh, we know he calmed the storm.
We, we know that when he arrived on the shores of Gadarene, we, we know that they came out from the tombs.
Matthew's gospel tells us two men, extremely fierce, men that had been bound by chains and shackles, but they were so strong they just plucked them off and they would scream and, and, and move around the area, taking sharp stones and cutting their naked bodies.
People were terrified of them.
They couldn't pass that way at all.
Well, some people say he arrived at night.
It was the next morning these men came and it's very interesting.
They fell down and worshiped him.
Imagine they knew exactly who had come to their shores.
They said, "Jesus Christ, the, have you come to torment us?" Uh, and we know the, the narrative.
Uh, "Don't torment us.
Allow us to go out and enter the pigs." Well, I'm giving a long introduction 'cause I want you to understand what's happening.
The men are possessed with demons.
6,000.
And, uh, imagine the men possessed with 6,000 devils.
I mean, no wonder they were screaming and cutting themselves and no wonder they were so strong.
Well, the Lord commands them to go out.
They enter the pigs and 2,000 pigs run off the edge, uh, of a steep hill into the sea and perish.
