Text us to let us know what you want to hear on the podcast! In part two of this controversial Q+A, Jess and Jill go deeper into the conversations…
But the question is kind of two parts.
So are coaches too quick to blame hormones and is essentially the term or phrase hormone balance one of the most overused and least understood phrases in women's health?
Yes.
Okay.
Yes.
I think coaches are too quick to blame hormones.
I also think that people want a quick answer.
So when you market and say, Hey, we can help you with your hormones.
Women are like, ding, ding, ding.
Cause that must've been my problem.
Meanwhile, there probably is a problem with your hormones because of crappy lifestyle choices for years on end.
Okay.
So yes, is it your hormones? Probably, but the why still remains the same.
And we're going to work on that while also doing, if we're doing a more advanced protocol for somebody who's hormones, we are not neglecting the basics that you've probably been neglecting that got you there in the first place.
So, um, personally, I think, um, uh like i tend to push okay the basics let's lift three to four times a week let's eat enough protein let's eat real foods and less processed stuff let's get sleep um and that's not sexy nobody wants to hear that so i think that that's not what women are looking for which is again it's annoying because everybody's always chasing like what's the hottest thing um but As I've learned more and more, I realize like, oh, snap.
OK, cool.
There are some protocols we can do to get them there faster.
But also they need to change the underlying things if they want to keep the outcomes from said protocols.
Yeah, I think that it's interesting, generally speaking, that.
I think when women have constant fatigue and bloating and feel like they can't lose weight, it's generally not, okay, I can't lose weight because I have the hormone imbalance, right? So I think just the thought process.
Yeah, that's true.
I generally do think there probably is something a little bit underlying, right? Like if you don't feel good.
Right.
probably there.
However, it's important to differentiate that likely what you're feeling and experiencing is the product of you trying to diet endlessly, not giving your body enough nutrients, sleep, recovery, all of those things.
