Today we're gonna talk all about breathing, and this is one of those things that we often take for granted as runners because it's something that we do every single day without thinking about it, both in running and outside of running.

And it is an involuntary process, thank goodness, because if it was a voluntary process, there would be a lot less humans in the world.

This is an involuntary process, meaning your body just does it without you ever having to think about it.

I appreciate some of the things in it, but so much of the, "This is the correct way to breathe when you're running," at, at some point it overcomplicates it because it's an involuntary action.

I agree, and I think that, like anything in running, we can overcomplicate a- almost all of it, right? And I think that we wanna definitely be aware of that, and I think that's great that you brought that up right at the beginning of the episode because we can definitely overcomplicate it and overthink it.

And I know this firsthand, because when I was a f- a new runner, Kevin really helped me with this issue for myself because I was getting a lot of side stitches.

And Kevin taught me some cool tricks from his years of just being a runner and all of the coaches and people that have helped him throughout his running career, and he really helped me with a lot of things.

And I'm gonna be teaching you guys, we are gonna be teaching you guys some of those things in this episode because they made a huge difference in how running felt for me.

I think part of my skepticism comes from the fact that I haven't struggled with things like a side stitch in almost 30-ish years.
