Chatting with Author Ellen O'Clover | If Not You

So to get to know you a little bit more.

So do you read any books or authors for fun?

Oh my gosh.

All the time.

Yes, of course.

Um, most recently, let's see what I've been reading.

I've been reading for fun.

I've been reading, um, I picked back up a book called bird by bird by Anne Lamott.

She came out in the nineties and I was gifted it when I graduated from high school.

It's sort of the subtitle is some instructions on writing in life.

It's sort of a writing guidebook, um, But Anne Lamott was recently interviewed on Amy Poehler's podcast.

And so I feel like she's sort of like back in the zeitgeist.

And I was like, I haven't read that in years.

I should read that again.

And it's full of just so much resonant advice about navigating the world as a creative person and how hard that is, but how worth it that is.

And so yeah.

I highly recommend that one to everyone.

Obviously, that's not fiction.

So that's kind of separate.

In terms of fiction, recently, I've really loved Mara Williams has a new one coming out on November called The Other Side of Starting Over that I loved.

It's a romance, but it has sort of a mystery plot under undercurrent that is like super delicious.

I think I have two.

Okay, really good.

And then this is kind of a deep cut.

But when people ask me for romance recommendations, I like to recommend this because I never hear people talk about them.
