Today, I am excited to be joined by Dr. John Puthulil, a physician, author, researcher, and patient advocate.

And I'm going to be referring to him as Dr. John as he has asked me for the remainder of this conversation.

He has spent decades asking questions that many healthcare professionals never think to ask.

Dr. John practiced medicine for more than 30 years as a board-certified pediatrician and allergist caring for patients throughout his career while developing a deep interest in understanding the biological drivers of hunger, weight gain, diabetes, and other chronic diseases.

Something, many of these things, all of these things are... impacting society so much today, especially in the United States.

Rather than accepting conventional explanations at face value, he embarked on a decades-long journey through the scientific literature, exploring physiology, endocrinology, biochemistry, and human metabolism in search of answers.

He has developed his own perspectives on weight management, type 2 diabetes, cancer, and lifestyle-related diseases, And these perspectives are challenging current assumptions and have sparked important conversations.

Dr. John is the author of several award-winning books, including Eat to Live, Diabetes, the Real Cause and Right Cure, as well as Your Health is at Risk.

And his latest book, Beat Unwanted Weight Gain, Seven Ways to Lose Pounds and Never Regain Them.

Through his writing, speaking engagements, syndicated columns, videos, blogs, and media appearances, he has dedicated himself to helping people better understand how their daily choices influence their long-term health.

Today, we're going to be talking about the most pressing questions in healthcare and wellness.

Why do people gain weight? Can we trust our own body's natural hunger signals? Are GLP-1 medications changing the way we think about appetite and obesity? How much of our eating is actually shaped by advertising and modern food culture? And what role do exercise and lifestyle play in diabetes prevention and management? And then we're going to be finishing up with how patients, all of us, can separate evidence-based guidance from misinformation and medical scams.

Dr. John brings a unique combination of clinical experience, scientific curiosity, and willingness to challenge established thinking, something we really need to do, especially in this day and age.

Storm, I thank you for having me and I thank the audience for their interest in this subject because it is so important, as you just pointed out, for our well-being.

We both aim to empower the patient or the person to take charge of his or her own health.
