I talk with Sgt. Jason Lorenson, who heads up the drone program for the Wabasha County Sheriff's Office about the different ways they use the drone!
Like, his daughter, uh, w- and a friend were sunbathing in the backyard or whatever, and the farmer [laughs] saw this drone, you know, floating about above his yard, and he shot it.
He shot it down.
So [laughs] first of all, our people, people are probably not allowed to shoot the drone down.
And, uh, also, you don't use drones, uh, to spy on people.
[laughs]
[laughs]
Uh, Minnesota has a very clear statute as to what law enforcement can use drones for and when they can be used and when they can't be.
And yeah, we can't, we can't arbitrarily fly over someone's property and use anything that we see there against them.
Um, we would, you would need a search warrant to do that over their private property.
We do a lot of public demonstrations if people wanna see how they work, and then some training with the local fire departments and then our current pilots that we have.
