5 Worst Things About Cruising to Puerto Plata

Worst thing, number one, the taxis.

The taxis here are stupid expensive.

Prior to a plaza, taxis can make your toes curl, especially if you're used to just hopping in a cheap little cab.

At other ports, like the Western Caribbean when you're in Cozumel, taxis are pretty cheap there.

A ride that feels like it should cost just a few bucks can run away significantly more than you're expecting.

and if you're a family or group and you're trying to get somewhere and back, it can add up really, really fast.

I remember the first time I priced out a taxi, I'm like, oh, hell to the no.

It was crazy expensive.

So I'm like, I'm just gonna do something different.

I'm gonna walk around.

And luckily I was at Taino Bay and I could do that.

You can't do that at Amber Cove.

It is easily one of the very first things that surprises first-timers here and that's not a fun surprise to have.

Now there is a much, much better alternative and I promise I'll get to it in the best part of this video because while taxis are really expensive, there's a transportation bargain that I wanna talk about.
