Claudia NankervisHostAnd seeing someone also that maybe you idolise or that you look up to or that reminds you of yourself, talking so openly about their struggles is so important.
I was wondering if, I mean, because it sounds like Let's Talk is talking to hundreds of different people and communities.
Is there a particular story or a person or a moment that has stayed with you that you've seen where you've seen a change, where you've seen someone be so positively impacted by some of these lived experiences, talks or workshops?

I have a young man who actually came hundreds of kilometres to see me as a GP because they'd heard that I was very open about mental illness.

Previously, he would have suffered and in silence and not said anything or not sought help.

And what it made me realise, though, is that despite all the positive things that I'm seeing in our direct immediate community where Let's Talk has made an impact, Only a few hundred kilometres away, the person couldn't talk to people around in the community.

And it's not until you see something like that, they go, oh, well, okay, we've just got the surface.

I have another example as well is we had a volunteer who had someone reach out to them when they were in a mental health crisis.

And the reason they reached out to our volunteer was because they were aware that she was involved with Let's Talk, had seen something that she'd put up on Facebook to say, you know, I support Let's Talk.

Anyway, she had someone reach out to her when she was specifically in a crisis and got her to book into a GP the next day.

And that person then reached out to our volunteer a week or two later to say, hey, I've got the support that I need.

Thank you so much because I don't know where I would have been if I had not reached out to you, which I think is just a really powerful story.

And I think one of the things is, you know, speaking on the podcast today is getting our word out there that we are here.

You know, we don't offer one-on-one support, but our key role is to link people with services.
