So this extract actually is probably one of the most frightening parts of the book, I think.

And I thought it'd be nice to take out some words which are rather sinister for you to listen to and to tell you that these are B2 level words, which you'll find in the B2 level glossary.

Now, the reason I choose these words is not just because, well, in scary situations they might be used, but for your own English, for you when you are discussing some situation in your oral exam, your B2 oral exam, Cambridge B2 maybe, or perhaps you're writing a story, which is another thing you can do at the B2 level in the Cambridge First certificate exam.

So that's just a nice way, a different way of saying a strange event, a bizarre situation.

My example sentence is, When I arrived at work this morning, everyone was wearing costumes.

So the word costume means to wear clothes so that you appear to be a different personality or character.

Okay, so for example, at what we call a fancy dress party, people wear costumes.
