But when we look at the kingdom, when we take part in the kingdom, the activities of the kingdom, when we pray for it to come, You know, as Jesus taught his followers to pray, thy kingdom come.

At the heart of it all, we need to examine and really have a look at that what are we really asking for? What do we mean when we say, God send your kingdom? And at the heart of it is, which I think why Niall did such an incredible, incredible foundational teaching of this series, is the fear of the Lord.

And a way of saying that, if you haven't heard, I'm going to rehash what he said, but have a listen to his message because it was profound and it was creative and it was incredibly helpful, is that when we think of the kingdom of God, we have to start with Our view, A.W. Tozer says it this way, what comes to our heart and our mind when we think about who God is, is the most important thing about us.

So when we think of the kingdom of God over the next few weeks, when we talk about it, when we look at all of the teaching that Jesus did on the kingdom of God, who is the king of the kingdom? You know, that's the fear of the Lord that Noah was telling us about.

It's not being scared of him because he was cruel and he's abusive or he's coercive or controlling.

It is being in awe of his love, of his power, of his faithfulness, of his grace, of his mercy.

And then having all of those things be the very things that when we think about them, when we let those things come close to us, they're the very things that illuminate in us the things that we're most afraid of.

Oh God, no! Not because they're afraid of him, because who he is illuminates who we are.

And isn't that a scary sight? Isn't it a sad sight? It's his love and his faithfulness and his grace.

It meets us in those places of our pride and our arrogance, where we think we're in control, where we've got it all sorted out, where we don't need Him because we've got it.

Those are the moments and the places that God comes and His grace and His mercy and His love and His faithfulness.

Then aren't we so grateful God doesn't leave us in our pride? One person, the rest of us love it.

The fear of the Lord is understanding and experiencing just what kind of king Jesus came to reveal.
